The Peter Frates ALS Foundation

The Peter Frates ALS Foundation carries forward the inspirational legacy of Pete Frates, the former Boston College baseball captain who ignited the global phenomenon of the Ice Bucket Challenge. Pete’s mission was clear: to help patients and families navigate the crushing financial and emotional toll of living with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).

Today, the Foundation works tirelessly to provide grants that directly improve the quality of life for ALS patients and their caregivers. By honoring Pete’s fighting spirit, we strive to make a difference in the lives of those battling this relentless disease.
