Our Mission
The Peter Frates ALS Foundation is a 501c3 non profit established to financially assist ALS patients with the enormous financial burden of out-of-pockets costs associated with home health care. As the patient progresses on their ALS journey, these out of pocket expenses grow exponentially. Our assistance will help to allow these patients to stay in their homes, where they belong, surrounded by the warmth, hope, and support of their loved ones.
Our Impact
The Peter Frates ALS Foundation has proudly provided support to 216 families across 35 states, delivering a total of $1,075,369 in grants. Each number represents a story, a family, and a real moment of relief during an incredibly difficult journey. We are deeply grateful to our community of donors and supporters who make this impact possible—and we remain committed to expanding our reach and helping even more families facing ALS.

One of Our Recipients
Tesla Davis
From her caregiver Jill,
Shortly after we submitted the application Tesla was hospitalized with pneumonia. She has been in the ICU from December 19th through Christmas and New Years. She now has a tracheostomy and feeding tube. They are just starting to make plans for her to return home and are working hard to figure out how to make it all work. Your grant came at just the right moment to alleviate some of her anxiety around paying and training these caregivers. Thank you SO MUCH!!!! It truly is such a tremendous gift and blessing!
With gratitude,
Jill (on behalf of Tesla)
