Dean Boylan

We are incredibly excited to welcome Dean Boylan, Vice President of Operations for Boston Sand & Gravel, to the Peter Frates ALS Foundation Board! A resident of Winchester, MA, Dean has been a long-time supporter of our galas and golf tournaments, and when asked to join the board, he “couldn’t say yes fast enough.”

Dean’s connection to our mission is deeply personal: Pete Frates was his friend. He witnessed Pete’s courageous battle firsthand, noting how Pete “attacked it just like he did everything else in his life and in the end changed the trajectory for those that are getting diagnosed today.” This experience fuels Dean’s passion for patient care, particularly helping families who may not have the robust support system Pete did. He deeply values the Foundation’s direct assistance, providing critical aid for necessities like groceries or mortgage payments.

Dean is committed to doing whatever it takes to help the Foundation reach its goals. He envisions the Peter Frates ALS Foundation becoming a “household name” among charities, continuously honoring Pete’s legacy by supporting those fighting ALS until a cure is found. To our community, Dean’s message is clear: “To the patients and families, I’d say you’re not in this alone. We will do whatever we can to support you through this. To the community, I’d say let’s go. There’s no time to waste in this fight and we’re going to need everyone’s support whether it be financially or through volunteering time. Let’s. Go.”
