Judith A. Cronin

We are incredibly honored to introduce Judith A. Cronin, our new Director and Treasurer, to the Peter Frates ALS Foundation Board! From Beverly, MA, Judith is not only a retired non-profit Executive Director but also Pete Frates’ aunt. Her inspiration to join the Board stemmed directly from watching Pete’s immense courage and unwavering commitment to finding a cure for ALS, a fight she is now dedicated to carrying on.

Judith’s personal connection fuels her passion for both patient care and research. Having served as the Executive Director of a YMCA, she brings extensive expertise in non-profit leadership, including fundraising, board governance, and effectively communicating impact. She envisions the Foundation continuing to expand its support for patient care and providing more funds for crucial research, ultimately aiming to find a cure.

Judith shared a heartfelt message to our community: “My nephew was Pete Frates, and I carry deep love and respect for everything he stood for. Pete faced ALS with courage, grace, and an unshakable will to make a difference… His legacy lives on in the community he built and in every effort to find a cure. I am honored to help carry that mission forward.” Her profound understanding of ALS, gleaned from Pete’s journey, underscores her dedication to supporting those affected by this devastating disease.
