Jenn Mayo

We’re incredibly proud to feature Jenn Mayo, our dedicated President, on the Peter Frates ALS Foundation Board of Directors! A lifelong resident of Beverly, MA, Jenn’s connection to our mission is profoundly personal: she is Pete Frates’ older sister. Having witnessed firsthand the unimaginable impact of ALS on Pete and her family, Jenn is driven by a powerful desire to ensure no other family endures such a journey.

As Director of Strategic Giving at Essex County Community Foundation, Jenn brings a unique blend of personal and professional experience to her role. Her finance and philanthropy background, combined with her lived experience of losing Pete to ALS, allows her to strategically expand our impact and strengthen the Foundation’s reach. Jenn is deeply passionate about patient care and awareness. She believes families should focus on cherished time with loved ones, not the burden of care, and is committed to honoring Pete’s legacy by continually raising awareness and funds to ultimately find a cure.

Jenn envisions the Foundation continuing to build on Pete’s legacy, ensuring patients can stay at home with their families and receive the best possible care. To our entire community—supporters, patients, and families—Jenn shares a heartfelt message: “I want everyone in the ALS community… to know that they are not in this alone. This is a disease that touches every part of life and no one should have to face it without support, understanding, love and care.”
