Left field at Fenway Park was once the home to Hall of Famers Ted Williams, Carl Yastrzemski and Jim Rice. But on August 14, 2014, that hallowed ground was reserved for Pete Frates and his family.

That day, Frates, a devoted Boston Red Sox fan and former Boston College baseball captain, took part in the Ice Bucket Challenge. More than 75 years after Lou Gehrig gave his “Luckiest Man” speech, Frates continued the fight against Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, better known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, by having ice cold water dumped on him.

A maroon baseball cap with the "BC" logo, a pair of sunglasses, a black and brown baseball glove, and a blue bucket labeled "Giants Sunflower Seeds" are displayed together, honoring the Pete Frates Hall of Fame legacy.
A baseball player wearing a beige uniform with "BC" on the hat is lying on the grass, reaching out with a gloved hand, appearing to have just made or missed a catch. The intensity of his play could easily earn him a spot in the Pete Frates Hall of Fame.
