“Running this race is my way of contributing to Pete’s mission and continuing the fight against ALS. I am running to raise funds that will directly support families in need, providing them with the resources and care they deserve. I am running to honor Pete’s memory and to make a tangible difference in the lives of those battling this relentless disease.”

Hi, I’m Tommy Haugh, a proud member of the Advisory Board for the Peter Frates Family Foundation. But more importantly, I’m honored to have called Pete my best friend. Our strong bond initially formed at St. John’s Prep but only deepened over the years, and despite life taking us in different directions, our friendship remained unshakeable. Playing baseball, sharing dreams, and supporting each other through thick and thin, Pete and I grew from friends to brothers.

Pete epitomized the spirit of the game, always hustling, giving 110%, and leaving it all out on the field. There was no better captain in my mind than Pete. He always led by example, with actions that spoke louder than words. He lived by the motto, “The only time success comes before work is in the dictionary.” His dedication, kindness, and leadership left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.

Pete’s battle with ALS was nothing short of heroic. Despite his diagnosis, he became a beacon of hope and strength for countless individuals around the world. The Ice Bucket Challenge, which he championed, brought unprecedented awareness and funding to ALS research, demonstrating the incredible power of community and compassion.

In honor of Pete’s legacy, the Peter Frates Family Foundation is committed to supporting ALS patients and their families, particularly in covering the overwhelming costs of home healthcare. As ALS progresses, the need for skilled and specialized care becomes critical, allowing patients to stay in the comfort of their homes, surrounded by loved ones.

This year, we have the privilege of participating in the Falmouth Road Race, and I am excited to announce that I will be running to raise funds and awareness for our cause. This race is not just a challenge but a tribute to Pete’s legacy and a way to support the families who are battling ALS every day.

I invite you to join me on this journey. Your support can come in many forms—whether through donations, spreading the word, or cheering us on during the race. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to ensuring that ALS patients receive the care and support they need.

Together, we can make a profound impact. Let’s run with heart and continue Pete’s fight, bringing hope and help to those who need it most.

Thank you for your support and generosity.
