Originally from Upstate New York, Nick attended and played hockey at Boston College before spending eight years as a professional hockey player. Now, he work in sales with Stryker Spine and lives in New Canaan, CT with his wife Kelley, step kids Katherine and Connor, and their two Bernese Mountain Dogs, Lola and Dash. Nick cherished his visits to Falmouth and Woods Hole since childhood, where he loved to fish and golf. While not an experienced runner, he’s eager to take on the challenge of training for this race and achieving a personal goal of finishing in under an hour.

During his time at Boston College, he became aware of Pete Frates and his incredible impact both on the baseball field and in the locker room. The tight-knit, family-like atmosphere at Boston College, where all athletes supported and spent time with each other, is one of his favorite memories. Even after leaving Boston College, he continued to follow Pete’s story through mutual friends and online. Whether it was seeing Pete after a game to say hello or hearing a random person mention his name or the Ice Bucket Challenge, he feels very fortunate to be able to bring awareness to a great cause; finding a cure for ALS.
